To Spoil or not to Spoil.....

http://www.themoviespoiler.com/

I came across this site for the first time when we were living in China and enjoying their dodgy DVDs--DVDs that would sometimes skip crucial scenes, become unwatchable halfway through or, god forbid, perform a "disc error" five minutes before the credits began to roll. I still find it useful for getting movie synopsis' or getting the gist of those "oscar material" movies I never get around to watching. Needless to say, if I'm planning on watching the movie, I don't read the spoiler, 'cause that would just, well, spoil it.

It's the control-freak in me coming out, but I hate loose ends, I have to know what's going to happen. I actually quite enjoy suspense in a movie or a book, but I have a time limit on it. I can't stand having to put the book down or having to wait another week or two to resolve that cliffhanger. I know Sol hates this about me. As an avid "24" fan, he treats the show like a spectator sport with much fist pumping and shouting directions and expletives at the TV screen. He's usually thoroughly pissed off by the end of the show, and yet, he keeps coming back for more. Me, I just can't take it, it's gotta be hazardous to health and well-being, but of course, Sol wants me to watch it with him.

My solution is to look up the episode guide. I don't read everything, because like I said, that would truly spoil it, but at least knowing who survives and who doesn't helps me relax between episodes and I don't suffer from post traumatic stress along with the characters on the show.

Aahh, I can see it now. 24...the suspense got to be too much for me, so I stopped. Also when I came here, they were only STARTing the second season by RENTAL! So I gave up...at the 22nd episode, I think. I know...stupid.
I think I'll get those two tomorrow.

And here we are watching the 4th season, and I hear there's a 5th season in the works. I gotta admit though, that it is a very well done show, it's really like watching an action movie in 24 segments. The season we're watching now is supposed to be the best yet, probably 'cause Jack's daughter is nowhere to be seen.

Ha, no way. I like watching movies that I have no clue about. I love it when I don't even know the story line. I don't know why.

Me, too. I like not knowing at all until the end.
Yes, dear Elisha did the best, IMO, in Love Actually. Even in The Girl Next Door, I didn't think she really fit the porn star profile. She acted more like a struggling actress.

I love not knowing whats gonna happen. But if the ending sucks then I'll hate the movie for all that wasted time and mental stress.

Same here, there's nothing better than a good surprise ending. Although I don't like movies that have a wierd twist to the end, you know the ones that leave with a bad feeling in the pit of your stomach.

My comments don't show on Sol's blog. You can read them, but they say "0 comment".
Know why that is?

Not sure, I tried leaving one just now and it worked fine. I'll let sol know you're having trouble with it.
